Not content with offering two new ranges of processor AMD has decided to also release two chipset platforms. The TRX50 range will be released shortly alongside the processors and is targeted towards the enthusiast market. The TRX50 boards will support both processor series but will have a slightly stripped-down set of features. Four channel memory, up to 1TB of RAM and fewer PCI-e lanes being the most notable differences.
WRX90 boards do not yet have a release date confirmed but we are anticipating availability in the first half of 2024. The WRX90 motherboards we have seen so far are positioned as more of a professional workstation or server offering features like remote management and more desirable network controllers. The WRX90 boards will feature eight channel memory, up to 2TB of RAM and 128 Gen 5 PCI-e Lanes. WRX90 boards will only support Threadripper PRO processors.
